January 2025 SUV Launches
January 2025 is set to witness several notable car and SUV launches, particularly in the Indian automotive market. Here are some anticipated releases:
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is introducing the e-Vitara, a midsize electric SUV aimed at competing with models like the Hyundai Creta EV. It is expected to offer two battery pack options to cater to varying customer needs.
Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the new electric G-Class, the G 580, at a dedicated event on January 9. The G 580 retains the iconic design of the traditional G-Class while incorporating electric underpinnings that reportedly enhance its off-roading capabilities.
Mahindra has already announced the starting price of the BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs, and the carmaker is expected to announce the full price list of both SUVs at the Bharat Mobility Show. Both SUVs are based on the born-electric INGLO platform and sport a very concept-car-like design. The BE 6, in particular, appears to be the more radical of the two, while the larger XEV 9e offers more cabin and luggage room, as well as more tech in the form of a passenger infotainment screen. Both SUVs share their powertrain and battery – at launch, they will be offered with a 59kWh battery and a single rear-motor setup producing 228hp and 380Nm.The BE 6 has a claimed range of 556km, while the XEV 9e returns 542km on a single charge (MIDC range).
These launches reflect the automotive industry's ongoing shift towards electric and hybrid vehicles, offering consumers a broader range of eco-friendly options.
