Mini Cooper Electric Launching in 2025

The 2025 Mini Cooper Electric represents a significant evolution in Mini's lineup, offering enhanced performance, range, and design.

Performance and Range The new Mini Cooper Electric is available in two variants:

- Cooper E: Equipped with a 40.7 kWh battery, it delivers 135 kW (approximately 181 horsepower) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. - Cooper SE: Featuring a larger 54.2 kWh battery, it produces 160 kW (around 215 horsepower) and achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The Cooper SE offers an estimated range of up to 250 miles (approximately 402 kilometers) on a full charge, though actual range may vary based on driving conditions and habits.

Design and Features

The 2025 model introduces a minimalist interior highlighted by a fully circular OLED touchscreen display, serving as the central interface for vehicle controls and infotainment. The exterior maintains Mini's iconic design cues with modern enhancements, including improved aerodynamics and distinctive lighting elements. Production and Availability Initially, the Mini Cooper Electric is being produced in China through a collaboration between BMW Group and Great Wall Motor. Production is expected to commence at Mini's Oxford plant in the UK by 2026. While European sales began in 2024, the model is anticipated to reach the U.S. market as a 2025 model year vehicle. However, due to production timelines and potential tariff implications, availability in the U.S. may be delayed until 2026.

Considerations for Indian Market

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the availability of the 2025 Mini Cooper Electric in India. Potential buyers in India should monitor announcements from Mini and BMW Group for updates on international availability and regional specifications.
